Album livicated to the loving memory of our Executive Producer, Oliver "Power" Grant
Scrollz of Lion Rock is Ras Ceylon's powerful ninth studio album—a bold and uncompromising body of work that bridges conscious Hip Hop, global culture, and timeless lyricism. Rooted in the symbolism of Sri Lanka's legendary Lion Rock (Sigiriya), the album explores themes of identity, resistance, ancestral wisdom, liberation, and spiritual resilience, while remaining firmly grounded in the traditions of authentic boom-bap Hip Hop. The title and concept reflect the enduring strength of cultural memory and the responsibility of preserving truth for future generations.
Featuring appearances from Wu-Tang affiliates and respected lyricists including Timbo King, Cappadonna, Prodigal Sunn, 9th Prince, Solomon Childs, Planet Asia, and Ras Kass, Scrollz of Lion Rock is both a personal statement and a collective celebration of Hip Hop's enduring legacy. Rich production from Dawit Justice, Mathematics, AkaFrank, Cruise, Monk Hits, Bles Infinite, Just Jay, and others provides a cinematic backdrop for the album's uncompromising message.
At the heart of the project is the vision of the late Oliver "Power" Grant, who served as the album's Executive Producer. Power was a co-founder of the Wu-Tang Clan's business empire, founder of Wu Wear, and one of the key architects behind expanding Wu-Tang from a groundbreaking music collective into a global cultural brand. His mentorship, guidance, and belief in Ras Ceylon gave the project a deeper sense of purpose and legacy. Power's involvement elevated Scrollz of Lion Rock beyond an album, it became a stamp of authenticity and a bridge between generations of conscious Hip Hop. Dedicated to his memory, the album stands as one of his final executive production credits and serves as a lasting tribute to his immeasurable contributions to Hip Hop culture.
Scrollz of Lion Rock is more than music, it's a manuscript of resilience, history, and artistic integrity. Every track reflects Ras Ceylon's commitment to truth, education, and cultural empowerment, delivering an album that speaks to listeners seeking substance as much as sound. In an era driven by trends, Scrollz of Lion Rock stands as a timeless testament to lyricism, legacy, and the enduring power of conscious Hip Hop.
