Side 2
1. Potbelly - "IRS Serial Rapists"
2. Potbelly - "Dreaming Of Murder"
Punk has never been known for subtlety, and Zombie Love!, the split 7-inch vinyl from Millions of Dead Cops (MDC) and Potbelly, proudly embraces the genre's raw, unapologetic roots. Released as a quick-hitting but politically loaded dose of sonic fury, this three-track collaboration captures both bands in their most confrontational and unfiltered states.
MDC, the legendary punk outfit known for their decades of politically charged material, returns here with the title track “Zombie Love.” Now based in Portland after their formative years in Texas and San Francisco, MDC proves they haven’t lost their bite. The track is a twisted, metaphor-heavy punk assault — a grim, tongue-in-cheek love letter from the undead. Fast, loud, and dripping with irony, it’s a fitting addition to MDC’s legacy of protest punk with a sardonic edge.
On the B-side, Washington State's Potbelly ups the chaos with two uncompromising cuts. First is “IRS Serial Rapists,” an incendiary, no-holds-barred attack on government corruption and systemic abuse. It’s harsh even by punk standards, meant to shock and provoke — exactly what you’d expect from a band never interested in pulling punches. The follow-up, “Dreaming of Murder,” dives into murky, violent fantasy, blurring the line between nightmare and catharsis over gritty guitar work and a relentless rhythm section.
Clocking in at just under ten minutes, Zombie Love! is short, brutal, and fiercely political — a split that doesn’t waste a second. Both MDC and Potbelly show they're not here to compromise or cater, delivering a slab of vinyl that’s as confrontational as it is cathartic. It’s an essential pickup for fans of underground punk who crave music that still burns with rage and refuses to be silenced.
